Aaron Peirsol Announces Campaign to Bring Back 1970s
While many of us are aware of Aaron Peirsol’s phenomenal commitment to “Race for the Oceans,” in an attempt to raise awareness about keeping our oceans clean, there is an additional fight the swimming star is currently battling. In another showing of selflessness Mr. Peirsol has also recently launched a campaign to bring back the 1970s. Sporting a noise clip, side burns and a mustache that would make Mark Spitz proud, Peirsol is clearly taking the situation seriously, and urges all those in favor to join his fight.
When discussing the matter with the World Record Holder and 4 Time Olympic Medalist we both agreed that the new campaign actually fits in well with his desire to help save the oceans: “Polyester is the new green,” Peirsol had to say.
But it’s not just about saving the environment, or looking good out there. Like Spitz before him, Peirsol claims the mustache gives him a distinct advantage, as it helps spread the water out away from his body. Clearly it must be the mustache as this weekend he went 1:44.80 in the 200IM, 45.69 in the 100 back and 1:39.10 in the 200 back unshaved and off short rest.
For now you can check out www.racefortheoceans.org for the latest on Aaron Peirsol’s charitable work, no word yet as to what his URL will be for the 1970s campaign.

Aaron looks a little too much like Ron Burgundy. Disturbing actually.
