Sharron Davies to be Featured in British Turkey Campaign
What do you do when your company’s turkey farm is found to have a large number of birds with a strain of H5N1 virus - more affectionately called the bird flu? You hire an Olympic medalist - a swimmer, in fact - to lead your campaign about how great turkey is.
This is exactly what British company Bernard Matthews is doing according to the BBC. The turkey farmer is launching a new campaign featuring Sharron Davies, winner of a silver medal in the 400 IM at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, in an attempt to boost sales in the wake of a bird flu outbreak which was found in nearly 160,000 birds in February.
