Nick Brunelli Undergoes Shoulder Surgery

U.S. Men’s National Team swimmer Nick Brunelli, a former Arizona State All-American, underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, the injury suffered during the finals of the 50 freestyle at the U.S. Nationals over the summer.

According to Brunelli “the injury occurred during the start of the 50 finals at US Nationals this summer. It tore due to my shoulder dislocating when I entered the water on the start. Right now I have 5 screws and 5 straps keeping my labrum where it should be until it heals back on the bone. Recovery time is no more than 9 months to 100%, and I plan on being at Pan Ams in July ready to rock.”
